No More Hiding

No more hiding, no more pretending
the authentic self shines brighter
than any lies.

Others may not understand, may
make you feel guilty for healing
just remember the beautiful soul
that you are, never forgetting
the treasure you are to this world.

Never doubt the victory
you've fought so hard to find
the truth about your own soul.

It was really simple rolling away
from all the fears, never allowing
the anxiety to steal your joy.
Sorrow was never your walk
the most important person, you were the only one,
in this world you could have really ever lost.

Thinking we needed to help others
nothing we could do for them until we helped ourselves
healing being completely whole and walking the example.
Words never made it happen, or ever changed things
it was moving putting actions in place as we stood
watching positive role models actions as they demonstrated
through the way they loved us in our lives.

Some believed abuse was love
while others believed lies and hiding secrets would be better.
Some thought love was intimidation and force was love.
Some thought never helping you at all was love.
Some stuck around and stood by your side love unconditionally.

It was really simple to stop making up excuses
instead of looking for others to blame.
We are not all the same, that is pretty plain.
We can never expect someone else to follow our path.
We will fall and we will fail.
We've just had to learn to pick up ourselves up
and choose to do it a better way unconditionally.

No need for endless lectures, or hate.
No need for yelling or arguing.
The best way is speaking calmly, listening from both sides
seeing things from the other persons perception.
Asking why they believe the way they do.
Never having to be right or wrong, but allowing others
to believe what they do.
Sometimes it's all they have to comfort their soul.
They will change when they are ready too
as you support them, praying allowing them to come
when they are ready.

When we are gentle and loving with their souls
we learn to be at peace within our own.
The quietness of peace setting us free.
It does feel so comforting.
