Courage of the Spiritual Warrior

One of my favorite stories is about David and Goliath. Goliath was a very intimidating, vexing very mean giant and insulted others that stood before him. Most of the Israelite soldiers ran from him in fear. They were looking at the size of him, the strength of him. They were worried about getting crushed by him, maybe even killed.

David was just a young boy, but was very brave, and courageous. He couldn't wait to come face to face with this giant. He was a courageous spiritual warrior, he was only skilled in using a sling shot and stone. He also knew that God was with him, and he had God's favor. He was not afraid to face this giant. He looked for the giants weakest point to bring him down.
When the giant saw this young boy before him, he probably laughed at David, and thought he was insane, or maybe even a joke that this small boy could even fight him.

Often in life we are bullied, intimidated, harassed, insulted, belittled, and torn down by others. We have a friend, a partner, a family member, or boss that won't stop at anything to beat our self worth down, to change our minds and ways. Sometimes they will try to sabotage us in our thinking, our strengths, and our abilities. If they can convince you that you are not courageous, or strong enough to fight back than they will have won.

Being a hero like David we have to face that giant in the face, take that sling shot and stone, pull it back and watch the stone fly through the air and knock the giant down. We must realise that God favor's us, and backs us up when it comes to standing up for what is right and just in the world. We should always stand our ground in our morals, values, and beliefs that are for the good of all man kind.

We should have a spirit of bravery, valor, courage, and bravado. We should be honored to be called by God where ever we are standing in the moment. We should not be worrying about what kind of armor we have on, but using the tools and gifts he has given us to defeat the giants in our lives. God has give each one of us the skills that are needed as well the talent. We were chosen to embrace those gifts and use them in the world to make a positive impact in society. We should use them every day and be the courageous spiritual warriors that we are without doubting that courage or strength. Believing in ourselves and a God that is just.

Our love for God and man kind should be strong as to fly through the sky as an arrow blazing piercing through the sky towards the giants heart, quick, but gentle in nature. Not necessarily to kill the giant, but to confuse him, put him in a daze of confusion to understand its ways and thinking are not God's ways. We should always help others to understand that no one is stronger than God.

When we have God's favor it doesn't matter who tries to get in the way, he will bring every giant down, and pave the way for your success. Like God divided the read sea in Moses time, he will divide the waters for you to cross into the new land of Jordan and he will deliver you from your enemies.

We can not let fear take over our minds, we must face it, find the courage with in ourselves, and stand right smack in front of the storm. The wind might be blowing hard against us. It might be a cool and gentle breeze. We never know what form those giants come in our lives. We don't always know that God is using us in their lives. We are not always aware of the circumstances behind the scenes. The thunder might rumble, the earth may shake, the lighting might roll across the sky coming, striking, bolting down upon the earth. The rain might be pouring down hard, yet we are used in what ever circumstances to serve him, to bring out the best in ourselves and others.

Ego's lead the way in the giants life. We are led by the spirit of God. They are so sure they are right about everything, and they know it all. They can even claim there is no God. Yet God says vengeance is mine. We are not to fight violently but leave it in God's hands. Those led by the spirit don't have to think about what they say, the spirit of God comes forward through them demonstrating his presence. The spirit talks of wisdom, love, and understanding. It doesn't speak of harming another person. Yet even God knows that giants will try to get in his way. He will come face to face with them, and stare them in the eye, and show the giants of the land who his soldiers are, and divide the land.

God chooses the weak and makes them strong. He builds their character into a courageous strong brave warrior, strengthening the soul, spirit, and mind. The mind is the fiercest weapon against the wickedness of the world, the stronger we become the braver we become, the stronger we are in our convictions. The more we understand the strength of God's love we are empowered by his embrace. We allow him always to lead our way into victory.

"Many times God will choose to use people who have felt rejected in order to show himself strong. He also purposely chooses what the world would call "weak and foolish" so no one takes the credit that is due him alone." (Joyce Meyers, 1Corinithians 1:26 -29).

"If you have been rejected or ill-treated, I encourage you to do as David did. Turn away from it! Forgive your enemies, and do not let offense fill your heart. Do not pay attention to what the devil is trying to do; keep your eyes on God and follow is his instruction. Yes, God can use you to do great things. God is not looking for someone with ability, but someone with availability. He is not looking for someone with perfect attributes, but someone with a perfect heart toward him. Keep your heart pure by refusing to allow hatred, strife, offense, bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness to dwell in it." (Joyce Meyers)
